Lincoln-Way East Football Advances To IHSA Semifinals

After the win over Warren, Lincoln-Way East will face Barrington High School in the semifinals.

FRANKFORT, IL — For the third time in this playoff series, Lincoln-Way East has shut out its opponent, and now advanced to the semifinals of the 2023 IHSA Class 8A playoffs.

Lincoln-Way East defeated Warren, 24-0, on Saturday. The team, which is 12-0, this season, has also won against Taft and Minooka in the first two rounds of the playoffs, according to IHSA.

Now, Lincoln-Way East will face Barrington High School in the semifinals. Date and time of the game will be announced Monday; but the game will be played at Lincoln-Way East in Frankfort.

Lincoln-Way East is the no. 2 seed, and Barrington is seeded no. 3, according to IHSA.

Lincoln-Way East finished second in the Class 8A state championship last year.

The winner of the Lincoln-Way East, Barrington match-up will play the winner of York and Loyola Academy in the state championship. The state championship game will be played at 7 p.m. on Nov. 25 in Normal.
