Lincoln-Way East Football Advances To Quarterfinals

FRANKFORT, IL — The Lincoln-Way East High School football team has advanced to quarterfinals of the IHSA Class 8A playoffs after its second round win over Minooka.

The Griffins won 38-7 against Minooka.

Lincoln-Way East also defeated Niles West 42-0 in the first round of playoffs, according to IHSA.

Now, the team will play Stevenson at 7 p.m. on Friday at Lincoln-Way East. Lincoln-Way East is 11-0 and is the no. 1 seed, while Stevenson is 10-1 and is the no. 9 seed, according to IHSA.

The winner of Friday's game will play the winner of the Maine South vs. Loyola Academy match-up in the semifinals next week.
