Lincoln-Way East Girls Volleyball Advances To First Round Of Sectional

The team will face Marist at 7 p.m. on Monday at Mother McAuley High School.

FRANKFORT, IL — The Lincoln-Way East girls volleyball team will play in the first round of IHSA Class 4A sectional competition on Monday, after claiming a regional championship on Thursday.

To make it to sectionals, Lincoln-Way East defeated Oak Lawn (14-25, 25-15, 25-14) on Thursday, according to IHSA.

Now, the team will face Marist at 7 p.m. on Monday at Mother McAuley High School. According to IHSA, Lincoln-Way East was the No. 3 seed in its sectional, and Marist is the No. 2 seed.

The winner of the Lincoln-Way East, Marist match will play in the sectional final against the winner of Mother McAuley and Sandburg. The winner of that match will then move to super-sectional play, and further advance into the state series.
