Mad Dash: Scary At The Prairie Set For Saturday In Frankfort
The event is also open to non-costumed runners, and will also include a 1-mile run and a youth 100-yard dash.
FRANKFORT, IL — It's common on Halloween to see children racing from one house to another in an effort to be the first in their group to ring the bell and get that almighty candy, and parents and guardians are always close behind. To help people prepare for the dashing around and to get people in the Halloween spirit, the Village of Frankfort will host Scary at the Prairie, a 5K costume run and spooky sprint.
Scary at the Prairie is scheduled to begin with check-in at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at Breidert Green Park in downtown Frankfort. The event will feature the costumed 5K run/walk for all ages, a 1-mile Fun Run for ages 10 and under, and a 100-yard dash for those ages 5 and younger.
Costumes are optional for all three races for those who don't want to be slowed down with cool looking gear, or those who simply wish to be party poopers.
