The final installment for 2022 of the free outdoor movies at Breidert Green in Frankfort is scheduled for Aug. 10.

FRANKFORT, IL — To paraphrase a line from the upcoming final Movies on the Green movie for the 2022 season: If you show it, they will come.

The Village of Frankfort is closing out the season of Movies on the Green with a showing of "Field of Dreams," which was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture in 1990. The movie tells the tale of Iowa farmer Ray Kinsella (played by Kevin Costner) as he builds a baseball field to reunite with his dad, John Kinsella (played by Dwier Brown), so Ray can fulfill his dream of "having a catch" with John.

The movie also features prominent supporting roles by James Earl Jones as Terrance Mann, Ray Liotta as "Shoeless" Joe Jackson and Burt Lancaster in his final film role as Dr. Archibald "Moonlight" Graham.
