Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued For Will County
High winds and hail could be on their way this afternoon.
The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Will County.
The warning was issued at 4:09 p.m. The storm could carry with it quarter size hail and 50 mph winds. Hail damage to vehicles and wind damage to roofs, siding and trees is possible.
The National Weather Service reported a strong thunderstorm near Channahon, which is moving east at 25 mph. The towns particlarly affected include Channahon, Manhattan and Elwood.
Occasional cloud to ground lightning and brief moderate downpours is possible with this storm.
The storm has the potential to produce gusty winds that may cause small branches to be blown down and loose objects to blow around.
