Splash Park At Frankfort's Commissioners Park Opening Tuesday

Renovations are being done on Fort Frankfort, but the splash park is still open during construction.

FRANKFORT, IL — The splash park at Commissioners Park will open on May 27 for the summer, the Frankfort Park District told Patch.

The Fort Frankfort playground at the park is under construction; however, the splash pad will still be open during the renovations, the park district said. The project on the playground should be done by September.

The splash park is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. It is $2 per resident and $4 for nonresidents; ages 1 and under are free, according to the park district.

Admission is on a first-come, first-serve basis. There is a limit of 60 patrons at one time.

The splash park will be closed on July 4. The park district said it also closes when temperatures are below 72 degrees or if there is severe weather and/or lightning.
