Stolen Kitten Still Missing, Animal Rescue Releases Suspect Photo

The rescue put out a plea on its social media asking for the person to "do the right thing and bring the kitten back."

FRANKFORT, IL — A 3-month-old kitten that was stolen on June 11 from Cache Creek Animal Rescue inside of Alsip Nursery has not been returned, the animal shelter told Patch this week.

The rescue said no one has come forward with a name, and it has filed a report with the Frankfort Police Department.

Frankfort Police said the suspect entered Alsip Nursery, 20601 S. La Grange Road, on June 11. The woman was wearing a light tan-colored hoodie, blue baggy pants and had short, dark hair that went to her shoulders.

According to police, the woman walked straight to the back area where Cache Creek Rescue is located. Around 6:35 p.m., police said the woman was seen leaving the animal rescue area with her hood up and arms crossed around her stomach.

"It appeared she was carrying something under her hoodie due to not moving her arms away from her stomach while walking," Frankfort police said.

The woman left the store and got into a lighter-colored sedan car before turning south on La Grange Road, police said.

Last week, the rescue had put out a plea on its social media asking for the person to "do the right thing and bring the kitten back."
