Summit Hill D161 Teacher Earns ISBE Award

FRANKFORT, IL — Summit Hill School District 161 teacher Stacey Froeschle was named a Teacher of the Year Meritorious Service Awardee by the Illinois State Board of Education, according to a new release from the district.

Froeschle was recognized Aug. 6 at the ISBE’s Those Who Excel and Teacher of the Year Banquet in Bloomington.

Froeschle is a third-grade teacher at Frankfort Square School. She is now in her 19th school year, all of which have been with D161.

Froeschle has taught first through sixth grades and in four of the district’s six schools, including Arbury Hills School, Dr. Julian Rogus School and Hilda Walker Intermediate School, in addition to Frankfort Square.

“Stacey is an energetic, engaging and admired teacher in Summit Hill School District 161,” said Superintendent Paul McDermott. “Her deep connections with students and the collaboration with her peers are trademarks of her teaching, and we are extraordinarily proud of her as our Teacher of the Year!”
