Summit Hill Eighth Grade Girls Volleyball Takes Third At State
The team won against Morton, 25-22 and 25-18; in the third-place match at the IESA state tournament last weekend.
FRANKFORT, IL — The Summit Hill Junior High eighth grade girls volleyball team placed third at the IESA Class 8-4A state tournament last weekend.
The team won its quarterfinal match on March 17 against Arlington Height's Thomas Middle School, 25-10 and 25-11, to advance to the semifinals against Homer Junior High School, Public Relations Specialist Marianne Ryan told Patch.
Summit Hill lost to the team from Homer Glen, 13-25 and 10-25, and played the third-place match against Morton Junior High School. Ryan said the team won against Morton, 25-22 and 25-18; finishing their season 25-3.

The team had advanced to the state tournament by earning a sectional championship win against Manteno Middle school (25-14, 25-17) on March 13, Ryan said.
The team is coached by Jack Howard and Keith McGrail.

The team included: Ashlee Palmer, Gina Civinelli, Avalyn DeKeyser, Emily Pachciarz, Emerson Nilsson, Jazzy Niewiadomski, Chloe Prainito, Valeria Barranca, Mia Balta, Monica Hickey, Carrigan Davidson, Maddie Strzechowski, Maddie Kelly, Lily Barrett and Beatrice Zugaj. The team was managed by Olivia King and Macie Campbell.
