Summit Hill Jr. High Scholastic Bowl Team Places 5th In State

It was the first time Summit Hill Junior High appeared in the finals of IESA AA State Tournament.

FRANKFORT, IL — The Summit Hill Junior High Scholastic Bowl team made its first ever appearance in the state final Friday of the IESA AA State Tournament in Peoria and came away with a fifth-place finish.

The SHJH Spartans competed against the Top 8 Scholastic Bowl teams in the finals. In three rounds of matches, the Spartans beat Washington 220 to 115 in the first round, then lost to Edison in round two 175 to 310, and came up just short in the third round against Greenville 145 to 170, according to a news release sent by SHJH.
