Sushi Restaurant Plans Move Forward In Frankfort

FRANKFORT, IL — Plans for a new sushi restaurant in Frankfort continue to move forward after the Frankfort Village Board approved a special use permit at its Monday meeting.
The Board approved a special use permit for a full-service restaurant with liquor sales for The Orange Hat.
The restaurant will be located at 19951 S. La Grange Road within the Hickory Creek Market Place.

Trustee Adam Borrelli said that a July 10 public hearing was held on the project, and the plan commission forwarded an unanimous recommendation to the Board to approve the special use permit request with conditions.
The building was previously the location for Wu's Ramen, which closed in 2021.

According to Board documents, beer and wine will be served at the restaurant. The interior of the building had been demolished, and improvements include additional bathrooms, repairs to the walk-in fridge and freezer, and electrical and plumbing work.
Hours for The Orange Hat will be 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 4 to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Friday; and 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
