Village of Frankfort To Hold Annual Memorial Day Ceremony

The ceremony is scheduled for 10 a.m. May 30 at Breidert Green in downtown Frankfort.

FRANKFORT, IL — The Village of Frankfort is scheduled to host its annual Memorial Day ceremony starting at 10 a.m. May 30 at Breidert Green in downtown Frankfort.

Scheduled to be included in the ceremony are members of the Frankfort VFW Post 1493, and students from the Hickory Creek Middle School's band and orchestra.

Will County Chief Deputy State's Attorney Ken Gray is also scheduled to be part of the ceremony, according to information from the Village.

“We are very honored to have this event performed live once again, and I encourage our residents to come out to honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice in service to their country,” said Frankfort Mayor Keith Ogle.

In the event of poor weather, the ceremony will be moved indoors at the Founders Center, 140 Oak St.

The Frankfort VFW is also inviting people to come to the VFW at 3 p.m. May 28 to help fundraising efforts for veterans following the Warrior Ruck fundraiser walk. The Frankfort VFW is located at 22057 S. Pfeiffer Road.
