Volunteers Needed For Frankfort Fall Fest
One of Frankfort's biggest events of the year, the Frankfort Fall Fest typically relies on around 150 volunteers to help run the show.

FRANKFORT, IL — Labor Day weekend may seem like it's still a ways out, but the Frankfort Chamber of Commerce is already putting a call out for volunteers well in advance of one of the biggest festivals in Frankfort: the Frankfort Fall Fest
During Monday's Frankfort Village Board of Trustees meeting, Frankfort Mayor Keith Ogle announced that the Chamber will host a new volunteer and information session starting at 6:30 p.m. July 26 at the Village Administration Building, 432 W. Nebraska St.
The meeting will be led by various Fest committee members who will talk about specific volunteer opportunities and duties, said Frankfort Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Pauline Modjeski. Those interested in volunteering can sign up during the meeting.

Because Frankfort Fall Fest is a pretty big deal in the village, and because the Fest runs over the course of three days from Sept. 3-5, it takes around 150-180 volunteers to help things run smoothly, Modjeski said.
Anyone is welcome to volunteer, Modjeski said. Being a resident of Frankfort is not a requirement to volunteer, she said.

"We have volunteers from all the neighboring communities," Modjeski said. "It's a great way to meet people. People come back every year, they make friends. It's a very unique and rewarding experience."
Modjeski offered a glimpse into what attendees can expect from this year's Fest, including more than 300 artisan and food vendors on hand, a carnival, an entertainment venue with live music each night, a food court dedicated to nonprofit groups, the annual parade and much more still to be announced.
"It's something if you're interested in getting involved in something special, something important, something that has a big impact on this community, you're going to want to get involved in the Frankfort Fall Fest," Ogle said.
