What Frankfort Ice Cream Shop Is Your Favorite?

FRANKFORT, IL — When Raffy's Candy Store opened a new location on White Street in Frankfort last month, it filled a void left by the departure of Kernel Sweet Tooth. Not only is it a source for candy, but it also maintains another ice cream shop in Frankfort.

With summer upon us and the mercury hovering in the 90s, we wanted to ask Patch readers which ice cream shop serves the best ice cream in Frankfort. Is it a longtime village establishment like the Creamery? Or newcomer like Raffy's and Short & Sweet Tasty Treat?

And in case you're wondering, yes, frozen yogurt shops qualify, even though they don't technically serve ice cream. That means you can suggest places such as Sweet Frog and Culver's.

Two other exceptions we're adding include Oberweis Dairy and Dairy Queen, both with locations just over the border in Mokena. Even though they're not in Frankfort proper, they're close enough to be a draw.
