Glen Ellyn Native Injured in Fall While Studying Abroad in Rome

Andrew Mogni is a student at the University of Iowa, according to the school.

A University of Iowa student from Glen Ellyn sustained serious injuries in a fall in Rome on Wednesday. Andrew Mogni, 20, is receiving medical treatment for the fall, which is believed to be an accident, according to University of Iowa officials. Police are investigating.

Mogni recently arrived for a semester program at John Cabot University in Trastevere. He is a third-year finance major at the Henry B. Tippie College of Business at the University of Iowa and expects to graduate in 2016.

Mogni’s parents are in Rome, as is UI Assistant Provost for International Programs Doug Lee.

“The university’s thoughts are with Mogni and his family during this difficult time,” the school said in a statement.
