He is charged with several federal offenses and could face life in prison, authorities said.
LOMBARD, IL — A Lombard man admitted to trafficking fentanyl and attempting to financially support ISIS, according to federal authorities.
Jason Brown, 41, pleaded guilty Wednesday to one count of trying to provide material support to ISIS, one count of distributing fentanyl and one count of gun possession in furtherance of drug trafficking, authorities said.
On three occasions in 2019, Brown gave $500 to a person, believing it would be wired to an ISIS soldier involved in terrorist activity in Syria, according to the U.S. Department of Justice. The person was confidentially working with law enforcement and the purported ISIS soldier was an undercover officer, authorities said.
