'No Issues Or Incidents' With Migrants At Glen Ellyn Station: Senak
There have been "no issues or incidents" reported after migrants from Texas were dropped off at the Metra station in Glen Ellyn, Senak said.

GLEN ELLYN, IL — There have been "no issues or incidents" reported after migrants heading to Chicago from Texas were dropped off at the Metra station in Glen Ellyn, Village Manager Senak said in a recent update.
Buses full of asylum seekers have been dropped off in Chicago's suburbs after the city enacted an ordinance limiting two buses of migrants to arrive each hour and restricting bus arrivals to set times. To skirt these rules, many bus drivers have been leaving migrants at Metra stations in Chicago suburbs.
Between now and Dec. 14, six buses have stopped at the Glen Ellyn Metra station to drop off asylum seekers, according to data from the DuPage County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (OHSEM).

Senak wrote that village police have monitored each incident and will monitor future incidents. He added that these dropoffs pose "no threat to resident safety."
"Based on the nature of the situation, Glen Ellyn is not planning further action regarding these or future bus arrivals," Senak wrote. "The Village has no plans at this time to enact any restrictions on the ability of migrants and their families to pass through the Village."
In recent weeks, buses have dropped migrants off at several DuPage County Metra stations, including the Fifth Avenue station in Naperville, along with stations Hinsdale and Westmont.
In December, Tinley Park approved an ordinance to restrict unscheduled bus arrivals with the threat of impoundment. Joliet followed suit with an ordinance that passed Tuesday. Other suburbs, including Clarendon Hills, are considering taking measures to prevent buses from leaving migrants in or near their municipalities.
