Park District Hopes To Bring Ice Skating To Panfish Park
The village will weigh a lease amendment that would permit the park district to bring ice skating to the Panfish Park pond.
GLEN ELLYN, IL — The Glen Ellyn Park District is hoping to add an ice skating option at Panfish Park. The village is set to review a lease amendment request Monday that would permit the change.
To allow ice skating at the Panfish Park Pond, the village must add the ponds at Panfish Park to its intergovernmental agreement with the park district. The intergovernmental agreement, established in March 2025, permits the park district to use and maintain Panfish Park, but does not include the park's ponds.
According to village documents, ice skating at Panfish Park is "consistent with" Glen Ellyn's aim of being "supportive of offering more recreational opportunities and further investment in the Park."

The statement continues, "This item exhibits the Park District's willingness to make investments, offer recreational opportunities, maintain this asset, and continue to strengthen the overall partnership with the village."
Ahead of Monday's meeting, village staff recommended the amendment, which would allow ice skating at Panfish Park annually between Dec. 1 and March 31.
