Wonka-Inspired Event Brings Golden Tickets, Treats To Glen Ellyn
The two-day event also features a free screening 0f Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory at Glen Art Theatre.

GLEN ELLYN, IL — Golden tickets will be tucked in hidden spots throughout downtown Glen Ellyn for the village's upcoming "Wonka Walk." The two-day festivities span Feb. 10 and Feb. 11 and include themed drinks and treats, prizes, games and a free showing of "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" at Glen Art Theatre.
Actors dressed as Willy Wonka and Oompa Loompa will stroll the streets downtown as visitors sample inventive drinks that include the Violet Beauregarde at Main Street Pub, chocolate stout at Beer Cellar and a Wonka Lemonade at Lewey Q's Tap.
A total of 25 golden tickets can be spotted in storefronts throughout downtown. Those who find a golden ticket receive a sweet treat, with golden tickets limited to one per person.

At 1 p.m., Beer Cellar will host a Bingo game and the Glen Art Theatre will show the classic Wonka movie starring Gene Wilder.
“The weather is going to be nice this weekend and we hope people will come out to shop, dine and have a little fun with all our Willy Wonka themed activities," Alliance of Downtown Glen Ellyn Executive Director Dawn Smith said in a statement.

Smith added, "The Original Willy Wonka movie is free at our beautiful historical movie theater, and our restaurants are the best in DuPage."
