Catalytic Converters Taken From 3 Cars On Same Night: Blotter
The parts were taken from vehicles parked in the 1400 and 1800 blocks of Milwaukee Avenue from Nov. 19-20, the Glenview police blotter said.

ARRESTS
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE
Edwin Ruiz, 55, of 1990 Aaron Court, Hampshire, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, illegal transportation of alcohol and improper backing, after a traffic crash investigation at Willow Road and Patriot Boulevard. Ruiz was arrested on Nov. 16 at 6:10 p.m. and was released after posting a $1,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 17.

THEFT OF SERVICE
Employees of a business in the 3700 block of Willow Road reported on Nov. 16 at 8:12 p.m. that a customer left the premise without paying for goods/services. The employees reported a loss of $159.95.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY
A resident in the 3500 block of Winnetka Road reported on Nov. 17 at 8:24 a.m. that an unknown offender rummaged through their vehicle in the driveway and used the garage door opener to enter the garage.
BURGLARY TO VEHICLE
A resident in the 2300 block of Dewes Street reported on Nov. 17 at 8:34 a.m. that an unknown offender entered their vehicle, which was parked in their driveway, and stole personal belongings sometime between Nov. 16 at 8:30 p.m. and Nov. 17 at 7:30 a.m.
THEFT
- On Nov. 17 at 12:41 p.m., a Barrington resident reported items stolen from a bag while they were at a business in the 2500 block of Compass Road.
- On Nov. 19 at 5:44 p.m., a resident in the 2100 block of Prairie Street reported money missing from a bank account. The resident had received a pop-up message on their computer screen asking to call a phone number to unlock their computer, and exchanged information.
THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE PARTS
- An employee of a business in the 1200 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported on Nov. 17 at 3:01 p.m. that a catalytic converter was stolen off their vehicle, which was parked in the business' lot.
- An Indiana resident reported on Nov. 20 at 7:34 a.m. that between 9 p.m. on Nov. 19 and 7:30 a.m. on Nov. 20, an unknown offender removed the catalytic converter from their vehicle while it was parked at a business in the 1800 block of Milwaukee Avenue.
- A Wisconsin resident reported on Nov. 20 at 7:34 a.m. that between 5:15 p.m. on Nov. 19 and 8:30 a.m. on Nov. 20, an unknown offender removed the catalytic converter from their vehicle while it was parked at a business in the 1400 block of Milwaukee Avenue.
- A North Carolina resident reported on Nov. 20 at 7:34 a.m. that between 10:30 p.m. on Nov. 19 and 9 a.m. on Nov. 20, an unknown offender removed the catalytic converter from their rental car while it was parked at a business in the 1400 block of Milwaukee Avenue.
RETAIL THEFT
A business in the 1900 block of Tower Drive reported on Nov. 18 at 11:48 a.m. that two suspects entered the store, gathered clothing in their arms and left the store without paying for items. The business reported a loss of $1,575.
STOLEN VEHICLE
A Chicago resident reported on Nov. 18 at 6:32 p.m. that at sometime between noon and 6:15 p.m. that day, their vehicle was stolen from a parking lot in the 2100 block of Johns Court. The owner was in possession of the vehicle's keys and did not give anyone permission to use the car.
NO VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE
On Nov. 18 at 7:48 p.m., a Niles resident was cited for no valid driver's license and disobeying a stop sign following a traffic stop in the 200 block of Glendale Road. The person was released on an I-bond and a court date was set for Dec. 3 at the Skokie Courthouse.
SUSPENDED DRIVER'S LICENSE
On Nov. 20 at 11:13 p.m., a Chicago resident was cited for driving on a suspended license and speeding following a traffic stop at Milwaukee Avenue and Winkleman Road. The individual was released on an I-bond with a court date of Dec. 17 at the Skokie Courthouse.
