Protective Order Violation, DUI, Retail Theft: Glenview Police Blotter
Five local residents were arrested by Glenview Police over the past week on a variety of charges including driving under the influence.

GLENVIEW, IL — The Glenview Police Department made a series of arrests over the past week involving local residents who were charged with a variety of criminal offenses.
Local residents are reminded that criminal charges do not equate to a guilty finding and that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Saifuddin Khan, 55, Morton Grove, was arrested at 9:59 p.m. on March 31 and charged with a violation of a protective order after an investigation into an incident that police said took place in the 700 block of Waukegan Road. He was transported to a bond hearing, police said.
Johnny Benitez, 31, Northfield, was arrested at 7:49 a.m. on April 1 on a failure to appear warrant issued by the Wheeling Police Department. The warrant stems from an incident that took place in the 900 block of 9th Street. He was transported to the Wheeling Police Department.

Alexander Afanasov, 25, Mount Prospect, was arrested at 11:28 p.m. on April 1 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following a traffic stop in the 1900 block of East Lake Street. He was also cited for speeding 35 miles per hour over the speed limit. He was released on bond.
Joy L Rosa, 26, Glenview, was arrested at 9 a.m. on March 28 and charged with battery in connection with an investigation into an incident on March 1 in the 600 block of Waukegan Road. She was released on bond.
Jonathan Seiva, 19, Northfield, was arrested at 1:54 a.m. on March 29 and charged with illegal possession of marijuana by a driver and failure to reduce his speed to avoid a crash in connection with an incident that took place in the 1500 block of Topp Lane. He was released on bond.
INCIDENTS
RETAIL THEFT
A business in the 2700 block of Old Willow Road reported items stolen without being paid for at 1:56 p.m. on March 29. Police were unable to make contact with the suspect.
The owner of a business in the 1500 block of Waukegan Road reported that at 5:14 p.m. on April 1, a male suspect used wire cutters to remove items from a display and leave the store without paying. Police said that the suspect then entered a black vehicle and left the area.
A business owner in the 2200 block of Willow Road reported that a suspect stole food from the business at 4:50 p.m. on April 1 and left the business without paying.
TRESPASSING
Employees at a business in the 1900 block of Tower Drive reported that a male suspect who had previously been given trespassing warnings again entered the business at 9:09 p.m. on April 1. He was told to leave and did so before police arrived.
Employees at a business in the 3300 block of Glenview Road reported a male and female were knocking down items and being disrespectful to staff members at 11:05 p.m. on April 1 and were asked to leave.
THEFT
A Chicago resident was cited for violating a village ordinance for theft and was given a trespassing notice at a business in the 2200 block of Willow Road following an investigation of the person returning unpaid for items. A Niles resident who accompanied the person into the business was also given a trespassing notice.
