1 Injured In Gurnee Rollover Crash

The collision happened on Washington Street at Route 21 Tuesday morning in Gurnee.

GURNEE, IL β€” One person was injured in a rollover crash in Gurnee Tuesday morning.

The collision happened at about 7:35 a.m. when a Honda Civic, driven by a 54-year-old man, was headed west on Washington Street at Route 21 and collided with a Kia Sorrento, which was eastbound on Washington and attempting to make a left turn onto Route 21, according to a news release from the Gurnee Police Department.

Authorities say the Civic entered the intersection while the traffic light was turning yellow, according to a news release. The Kia, which was driven by a 23-year-old woman, also entered the intersection at the same time and collided with the westbound Civic.

The impact caused the Kia Sorrento to roll over onto its side and slide into a black Toyota Rav4, which was stationary in the southbound left turn lane on Route 21.

There no major injuries reported at the scene, and the driver of the Honda Civic was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville for a precautionary evaluation.
