• ‘A small but real benefit': Grayslake action cements the dissolution of a layer of government (dailyherald.com) — Grayslake’s village board has cast the final vote to dissolve the Avon-Fremont Drainage District, shifting Mill Creek oversight fully to the village and removing a small line from local tax bills. Leaders say Grayslake already maintains most of the creek, so the change should streamline stormwater management, reduce administrative overhead, and open the door to future bank stabilization and trail projects.
