4 Injured — 1 Critically — In Grayslake-Area Crash
The collision happened Sunday morning on Route 60 at Fairfield Road.
LAKE COUNTY, IL — A 32-year-old woman sustained life-threatening injuries in a two-car collision on Route 60 near Grayslake Sunday morning.
The crash happened at about 7 a.m. when a Volkswagen Atlas headed east on Route 60 did not stop for a red light at Fairfield Road, witnesses told police. The Atlas then hit a Nissan Pathfinder, which was southbound on Fairfield Road, according to a news release from the Lake County Sheriff's Office.
Both vehicles then hit a traffic light pole, police said.

The driver of the Atlas, a 32-year-old Volo woman, was taken to an area hospital with critical, life-threatening injuries, authorities said. The driver of the Nissan, a 42-year-old Round Lake woman, and two passengers in the vehicle were taken to area hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
