Blissful Touch Finds Success And Friendship In Woman-Owned Business

The Libertyville Studio offers many modalites for clients to relax and refresh

Blissful Touch Studio was born at a spa conference, when co-owners Rubi Vega and Monique Westbrook met and began a fast friendship.

β€œRubi and I had met because we were clients for each other,” Westbrook said. β€œIt was just one of those things where you found your long-lost best friend. I basically bullied her into coming into business with me. She finally let me bully her enough to join forces with me.”

The two celebrated the business’ one year anniversary on May 24.

While laughing during the phone interview, Vega verifies Westbrook’s assessment.

β€œOne hundred percent, that is a fact,” Vega said about going into business. β€œMonique at the time was just ready to expand her business. I had no intention (of) moving on my own.”

But the two joined forces and never looked back.

In fact, they are looking to expand soon, hiring more bodywork professionals to join their team.Blissful Touch Studio currently offers a number of massage modalities as well as a number of facials and waxing services, including the client favorite Deep Tissue and the results-driven Oxygen Rx Treatment.

β€œWe labored and loved and shed a bunch of tears and blood for this place,” Westbrook said. The ambiance of the space is not lost on its clients.

Client Dylan noticed it right away.”The ambience is luxurious and provided me with a great opportunity to rest and relax, with so many aromatic scents and textures in play,” he said. β€œRubi and Monique are authentic and attentive and truly care about their clientele.β€œI would highly recommend them to friends and family for all of their services!"

Many of the clients at Blissful Touch Studio take advantage of services from both Vega and Westbrook, sometime in the same day.

β€œOur clients are very much alike, but also very different,” Vega said.

This was true for Dylan who visits the studio for both massage and facials.

β€œOne of the first things I became aware of upon entering Blissful Touch Studio, was how welcoming owners Rubi and Monique are!” he said. β€œThey really went out of their way to make me feel at home.β€œAs a new customer, I've been fortunate to experience each of their services.”

Vega said many of the massage clients she regularly sees are booking massages more on the therapeutic side than on the relaxation side.

β€œA lot of our clients come into one roon for a service then switch to the next for another,” she said. We love that for our clients, we are a one-stop shop for them.”

Westbrook agreed.

β€œA lot of our clients are busy people,” she said. β€œThey really do enjoy spending their time here.

They just love having a secret hideaway.”

And the experience is tailored for each client visit and their needs on that particular day.

β€œRubi is an extremely intuitive massage practitioner who is in tune with her clients, knowing just how much pressure to apply and listens to her customers,” he said. β€œHaving a facial with Monique is equally wonderful. The very nature of receiving a facial is an investment in one's self-care and Monique leaves no stone unturned!”

Much of the story of how Vega and Westbrook met is outlined on their website. But the detail of how much the two work well together may not be clear just by reading that.

β€œWe didn’t really put in (who) we are personality-wise,” Vega said. β€œWe didn’t say how we are as humans. I will say Monique and I are two peas in a pod.

β€œWe're silly, goofy, fun and also kind-hearted people and really want the best for our clients.”
