Coroner IDs Elderly Woman Killed In Antioch Crash
The collision happened at Route 173 and Route 83 in Antioch on Saturday afternoon.
ANTIOCH, IL β The Lake County Coroner's Office has identified a 78-year-old woman who was killed in a crash in Antioch.
Elaine Weamer, of Hainesville, was killed in the collision, which happened at about 2:35 p.m. Saturday at Route 173 and Route 83, according to the Lake County Coroner's Office.
Weamer was riding as a passenger in a 2007 Hyundai, which was headed north on Route 83 when a 2008 Honda turned from southbound Route 83 onto eastbound 173 in front of the Hyundai, according to the coroner's office. Both the driver of the Hyundai and Weamer were taken to area hospitals following the crash.

Weamer was pronounced dead in the emergency room at Advocate Condell Medical Center. Preliminary autopsy results show Weamer died from blunt force injuries as a result of the crash, according to the coroner's office.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by Antioch Police Department and MCAT.
