Deputy Injured In Lake County Collision: Police
The crash happened Saturday afternoon at Route 134 and Main Street in Ingleside.
LAKE COUNTY, IL — An off-duty Lake County Sheriff's Office deputy was injured in a collision in Lake County over the weekend, police said.
The crash happened at about 3:30 p.m. on Saturday when a deputy in a Ford Police Interceptor was headed west on Route 134 approaching Main Street in Ingleside. As the sheriff’s deputy continued west on Route 134, a BMW X4, driven by a 45-year-old Roselle man, was on Main Street and pulled onto Route 134 to make a U-Turn, according to a news release.
The front of the BMW hit the front of the westbound squad car, police said. The first collision caused the squad car to strike a Chevrolet Silverado, driven by a 23-year-old Round Lake Beach man, which was stopped at the stop sign on Main Street, police said.

The deputy sustained injuries that are not considered life-threatening. He was transported to an area hospital, where he was treated and released.
The driver of the BMW and a front seat passenger in the car, a 36-year-old Round Lake Park man, sustained injuries that are not considered life-threatening. They both were transported to an area hospital.

The driver of the Chevrolet was not injured, police said.
Open containers of alcohol were located in the BMW and impairment appears to be a factor, police said over the weekend.
The crash remains under investigation by the Round Lake Police Department and the Lake County Major Crash Assistance Team.
