Mrs. Mushroom; Wadsworth, IL

Grayslake; weekly. Tractor Supply Antioch; monthly.
Why did you start your business? What is your background/expertise?
I have worked as a Registered Nurse since May, 2012 and I obtained my Masters in Applied Nutrition in December, 2020. I purchased a mushroom grow kit online in towards the end of finishing my Master's and I thought it was one of the most exciting and rewarding growing experiences I've ever had. From that point on, I wanted to learn how to make my own grow kits and grow my own mushrooms. Having the background of working in healthcare as well as learning about the importance of healthy food through my Master's program has encouraged me to provide a delicious, healthy product to local consumers.
What are some of your most popular products sold at markets? Why are these popular?
Fresh, gourmet mushrooms allows you the opportunity to cook with a delicious, and nutritious food. Additionally, my easy, DIY grow kits are quite popular because all you have to do is spray with water 2-3 times daily and you can grow your own mushrooms in the comfort of your own home!
What's next for your business? Any new products or expansions the public may want to know about?
Functional mushrooms such as Lions Mane, Reishi and Turkey Tail, as well as more gourmet mushrooms such as pink oysters and chestnuts. Also coming soon will be videos and instructional tutorials on how to use all of my products!
How can people learn more about your business/buy from you (share any website links, store locations, etc.)
Anything else you'd like to share?
Even if you're not a mushroom fan, there may be something here for you!
