Pastor Scares Off Church Burglar Who Fled With Gaming System: Police
Brendan Wilcox has been charged with burglary in connection with allegations he broke into Gages Lake Church on April 5.
LAKE COUNTY, IL β A 37-year-old Grayslake man faces charges for allegations he burglarized area churches, authorities said.
Brendan Wilcox, of the 33500 of Royal Oak Lane, has been charged with burglary for allegations he broke into Gages Lake Church in the 18700 block of Gages Lake Road in unincorporated Grayslake, Christopher Covelli, deputy chief for the Lake County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities responded to the church for a report of a burglary in progress on April 5 after a pastor walked in on "a person committing a burglary," Covelli said. The pastor startled the burglar, who then fled on foot with a gaming system.
He also had several items he likely planned to steal by the door of the church, Covelli said.

Detectives used video footage from the area to link Wilcox to burglary. Police obtained an arrest warrant for Wilcox on May 13 and took him into custody.
