Name of the person who nominated the hero: Hal Young

Is the nominee considered an β€œessential worker”?: Yes

What does the nominee do for work?: Concerned for the safety and well being of all within Grayslake and other areas when required.

Why do you believe the nominee should be recognized or honored? I am a Vietnam vet, 439th Combat Support Group, supporting the 45th TAC Recon Sqdn, and I truly understand what it is like to put your life at risk day in and day out. It takes a very special and dedicated person, or people, to be willing to sacrifice for a stranger. I won't go into the bravery and understanding of their wives, as that is a whole different group of dedicated folks.

What’s one thing you want everyone to know about your hero?:
Just know that my wife and I have always felt safe and secure with the GLPD on the job during the 26 years we have lived here.

Thank you for all you do, Grayslake Police Department members!
