The leaves are starting to fall in Grayslake, and the village is ready to help with the clean-up.
Grayslake's leaf vacuuming program is set to begin Oct. 21 and run for six weeks.
The village offered these guidelines for the program on its website:
- Place leaves into piles, unbagged, before 6 a.m. on the scheduled service day (see map above).
- Please place leaf piles between the edge of street and sidewalk. In areas without a sidewalk, please place leaf piles within 7 feet from the edge of the street.
- Please do not deposit leaves into the street.
