Man, 20, Shot While Sitting In Car In Zion

The Zion Police Department is asking anyone with information on the Feb. 16 shooting in Zion to contact the department or Crime Stoppers.

ZION, IL — Detectives with the Zion Police Department are investigating a Sunday shooting that injured a young man from Zion. According to a news release from the Zion Police Department, police were called to the 2100 block of Bethesda Boulevard at 3:15 p.m. Sunday for a reported shooting. The 20-year-old man said he was shot once in the abdomen by a male while sitting in his car in the 2900 block of Willow Lane, according to police. Police added that the victim said he had gone to the location to meet with an unknown female.

The victim drove to the 2100 block of Bethesda Boulevard, where Zion Fire Department/Rescue crews arrived and took him to Vista Medical Center East for a non-life-threatening injury.

The shooting suspect is described as a Hispanic male of medium height and build, according to police.
