The incident occurred inside a store at Six Flags near one of the amusement park rides.

A witness corroborated the victim’s statement to police and video surveillance was also recovered.

The video showed Mahamed slapping the victim in the face, Daly said.

Prosecutors did not say if the incident was random or if any altercation occurred leading up to it.

The Gurnee Police Department responded and arrested Mahamed.

A public defender for Mahamed said his client does not know the victim.

Lake County Judge Theodore Potkonjak ordered Mahamed held on a $100,000 bond.

Mahamed remains held in the Lake County Jail and would need to post $10,000 cash in order to be released.

He is barred from having contact with the victim or going to Six Flags Great America as part of his bond conditions.

Mahamed is scheduled to appear in court again on Friday for a status of attorney hearing.
