Man Makes False Shooting Report In Attempt To Disrupt Investigation: Authorities
The 28-year-old Waukegan man now faces a felony false report of an offense charge.

A Waukegan man was arrested after prosecutors say he made a false 911 call about a shooting at a hotel in Grayslake to try and disrupt police from investigating a stolen vehicle.
Felix G. Guadarrama, 28, of Waukegan, was charged with two counts of felony false report of an offense. Lake County Assistant Stateβs Attorney Dino Katris said officers were investigating a stolen vehicle that fled from them.

They located the car Wednesday at the Comfort Suites at Route 45 and Route 120 in Grayslake.
The officers were about to have the car towed when a woman called 911 and told dispatchers that Guadarrama contacted her and told her to call 911, Katris said. Guadarrama reportedly told the woman there was going to be a shooting at the Comfort Suites in Grayslake, which is where the officers were.

The woman provided Guadarramaβs phone number to dispatchers and almost simultaneously the Lake County Sheriffβs Office dispatch center received a 911 hang-up call from Guadarramaβs phone, Katris said.
Dispatchers called Guadarrama back and he answered. He told them someone shot at some cars at the Comfort Suites, Katris said. Officers confirmed no shots had been fired. A rapid emergency ping located Guadarramaβs cell phone next door at Northwestern Medicine Emergency Center in Grayslake.
Guadarrama was then detained.
Katris said it is believed Guadarrama made the 911 calls to help the mother of his child, who had a failure to appear warrant, from being investigated regarding the stolen vehicle. Lake County Judge Theodore Potkonjak ordered Guadarrama held on a $50,000 bond.
Guadarrama remains held in the Lake County Jail and would need to post $5,000 cash in order to be released.
A bond review hearing is scheduled for September 14.
