Motorcyclist Critically Injured In Crash With Garbage Truck
A 35-year-old man from unincorporated Spring Grove sustained life-threatening injuries following the Monday morning collision.
LAKE COUNTY, IL — A motorcyclist is in critical condition after it collided with a garbage truck near Antioch Monday morning.
The collision happened at about 10:30 a.m. when a 2017 Harley-Davidson, driven by a 35-year-old man from unincorporated Spring Grove, was headed east on Grass Lake Road near West Park Avenue behind a garbage truck when the garbage truck slowed down to make a left turn into a parking lot, according to a news release from the Lake County Sheriff's Office.
The motorcycle attempted to pass the garbage truck on the left and hit the back of the truck as it was making its turn, according to police. The driver of the motorcycle, who was not wearing a helmet, was seriously injured.

He was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center with critical, life-threatening injuries.
