Mundelein Park District Holds Annual Pumpkin Drop

The Pumpkin Drop event takes place November 6 at Keith Mione Community Park.

MUNDELEIN, IL - Join us for a great photo/video opportunity at our end-of-the-Halloween-season event where we toss, roll, smash and compost those past-their-prime pumpkins. Go “monster” green after Halloween at Mundelein Park District’s free Pumpkin Drop at Community Park’s sled hill (1401 N. Midlothian Road) on Sunday, November 6 from 12:30 to 1:30 pm.

Come watch us roll pumpkins down the sled hill to see how fast and far they go, compete in fun pumpkin games, and smash them into compost. There will be a special drawing from pre-registered participants and 20 winners will get their pumpkin launched by “Big Red”, a catapult spanning nearly 10 feet across and designed with recycled materials by Mundelein High School students. The gourd that goes the greatest distance receives a special prize.
