Police Dog, Deputies Find 3 Missing Juveniles Early Sunday

Lake County Sheriff’s Canine Boomer and sheriff’s deputies located three juveniles who went missing early Sunday morning from a residential facility in Lake Villa.

Lake County Sheriff’s Deputy Kilpatrick and his canine partner Boomer were called to assist the Lake Villa Police Department.

The police department was searching for three missing juveniles who went missing around 4 a.m. Sunday. The three went missing from a residential facility on Grand Avenue in Lake Villa and were not wearing weather-appropriate clothing, the sheriff’s office said.

Kilpatrick and Boomer spotted two of the juveniles while responding but they both fled.

Boomer began tracking them and located the two of them, who were extremely cold, in a wooded area around 8:30 a.m.

Patrol deputies located the third juvenile in a wooded area about a half-mile from the other two, the sheriff’s office said.

All of the juveniles were returned to safety, the sheriff’s office added.
