Ray Auto Group continued its proud tradition of supporting our nation’s service members with its annual USO of Illinois fundraiser last month. The event, which featured a sizzling BBQ, a lively car show, and a unique “test drive for a cause” initiative, generated $5,000 for the USO of Illinois.
Since first launching this effort in 2013, Ray Auto Group has contributed over $55,000 to the organization, which provides vital programs and services to active-duty military members and their families.

This year’s fundraiser brought the community together in a big way. For every test drive taken during the event, Ray Auto Group donated $50 to the cause, helping drive the total even higher. Attendees enjoyed delicious barbecue, admired a wide variety of vehicles, and connected with fellow supporters of the USO mission.
The car show was a true automotive showcase, featuring specialty vehicles from Jeeps on the Run and the Illinois Camaro Club, alongside a number of remarkable cars proudly brought by Ray Auto Group’s own customers. From muscle cars to meticulously restored classics, the lineup was as diverse as it was impressive.

Adding to the excitement, the Round Lake Beach Police Department joined the festivities, engaging with the community and showcasing their support for the cause. A local radio station was also on-site, keeping the energy high with music, announcements, and live coverage throughout the day.
“This event has been part of our dealer culture for over a decade,” said Ray Scarpelli. “We couldn’t make it happen without our incredible customers, employees, and local car clubs who come together year after year to support the USO and the men and women who serve our country.”
Ray Auto Group looks forward to continuing this tradition in 2026, once again combining community, cars, and compassion for a cause that matters.
