Skull Cap-Wearing Robber Strikes Gurnee Bank

Federal investigators are looking for the crook behind a Tuesday bank robbery.

Federal investigators are searching for a bandit who struck a Gurnee bank early Tuesday morning in what has been classified as a "non-takeover robbery."

He entered and robbed NorState Bank, 5384 Grand Ave. at 8:59 a.m. Tuesday, according to Bandit Tracker Chicago, a website partnership among federal, county and local law enforcement agencies, as well as those in the Chicago banking industry.

Surveillance footage of the robber shows a 6-foot-tall white man wearing a black skull cap. Detectives say he also wore black-framed square-shaped prescription eyeglasses, a dark button-style coat, blue jeans with holes in the knees and gloves. He's described as being in his 30s and having a slim build.
