Teen Hit In Head With Knife During Gurnee Mills Parking Lot Fight

Gurnee police are looking for a juvenile who witnesses said had a small knife and hit the victim in the head with it.

GURNEE, IL β€” The Gurnee Police Department said officers are looking for a juvenile who witnesses told police hit a teen in the head with a knife Saturday night in a parking lot in the 6100 block of Grand Avenue β€” Gurnee Mills mall. According to a news release from the police department, Gurnee police were called at 8:45 p.m. to the parking lot for reports of a fight between two juveniles, and initial reports said one of them may have a knife, and a person was stabbed. When officers arrived, they found 8 people involved with the fight, and a male teen who was bleeding from the head, police said.

Further investigation showed all involved are acquaintances, and officers also learned there was another person involved who left the scene. Witnesses told police he had a small knife and hit the victim in the head with it, causing the head injury, according to the news release.

Gurnee Fire Department crews came to provide medical help, and treated the injured teen on site, according to the news release.
