What's Open, Closed on Columbus Day in Grayslake
Schools are closed, but the library is open; find out what else is happening Columbus Day in Grayslake.
While kids will have the day off, some municipal workers won't this Columbus Day, which is Monday, Oct. 14.
Closings in Grayslake include the Grayslake District 46 and Grayslake Community High School District 127 schools. Don't expect mail delivery either, since the post office is closed.
Most banks are closed on Columbus Day, but some remain open, so check with yours if you plan to do some in-person banking.
What's open?
- The Grayslake Library is open for business Monday and has some activities scheduled.
- According to Waste Management, there will be regular garbage/recycling pickup.
Most retail stores, restaurants, gyms, and supermarkets are open, but may be observing special weekend or holiday hours. Call ahead if you want to be sure before you head out.
