Zion Man Not Cooperating In Shooting Investigation: Police

According to Zion police, the 33-year-old man refuses to provide information in the Sunday, March 8 shooting.

ZION, IL β€” The Zion Police Department is investigating a Sunday shooting involving a man from Zion. According to the police department, a 33-year-old Zion man was injured in the shooting at 8:30 a.m. Sunday, and officers were called to the 4200 block of Barberry Lane for several gunshot reports. In a news release, the police department said callers reported hearing four gunshots, people running and a car driving over the grass.

Officers didn't locate any shooting victims but spoke to several witnesses.

At 9 a.m., Vista Medical Center East called to report that someone with a gunshot wound to the leg had been dropped off at the emergency room, and when officers and detectives got there, they met the victim and recovered evidence, according to the news release.

The victim has refused to provide information or cooperate in the investigation, police said, adding that their injury isn't considered life threatening
