Zion Woman Shot In Abdomen Dies From Injuries: Police

The April 26 shooting in Zion is being investigated as a homicide, according to police.

ZION, IL β€” A Zion woman hurt in a shooting last month in the 2300 block of Jethro Avenue has died, according to the Zion Police Department. A news release from the police department said the 21-year-old woman died at 1:30 p.m., April 27, from injuries she sustained when she was shot in the abdomen the day before. The shooting is being investigated as a homicide, according to police, adding that the Lake County Major Crime Task Force was contacted on the morning of April 26 with this investigation due to the seriousness of the victim’s injuries.

The victim has been identified as 21-year-old Kamryn Dussault by the Lake County Coroner's office.
