• FOIA request sent to City of Harrisburg regarding new or amended contracts on December 9, 2025 (seillinoisnews.com) — A media outlet has filed a Freedom of Information Act request with the City of Harrisburg seeking copies of all new or amended city contracts from January through March 2025, especially for public works, technology, and consulting services. The requester is also asking for a fee waiver, arguing the records will support watchdog reporting on local government transparency and accountability for Harrisburg residents.
   

• SIC Announces Inaugural Honor Band & Choral Festival (wmix94.com) — Harrisburg’s Southeastern Illinois College is launching its first-ever Honor Band and Choral Festival on Thursday, Jan. 15, inviting area high schools to send up to 30 student musicians each. The daylong event ends with a free 6:30 p.m. concert in the SIC Theatre, open to the public and showcasing regional instrumental and vocal talent.
