Highland Park Crime: ​Worker Burglarizes Home, Thief Snags Jewelry, DUIs

Highland Park police reports: April 10-17.

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — The following information comes from the Highland Park Police Department as a record of police activity. An arrest is not an indication of guilt. Criminal charges represent merely accusations. All defendants are innocent unless their guilt is established by a court of law.

Saturday, April 15

Possession of Pot, Driving Under the Influence

Police reportedly pulled over Andrea L. Wojnarowski, 24, shortly after 2 a.m. in the 100 block of the Edens Expressway. A resident of the 6200 block of South Ada Street in Chicago, she was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, improper lane use, failure to yield to an authorized emergency vehicle, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and possession of marijuana. Wojnarowski was released on a personal recognizance bond and assigned a court date in Waukegan of of May 12.

Friday, April 14

Worker Burglarizes Home

A resident filed a report on April 14 that a woman stole jewelry last year from his or her home in the 600 block of Barberry Road. The suspected culprit had completed work in the home, according to the report. She pocketed the valuables sometime between March and September 2016.

Thursday, April 13

Driving Under the Influence

Andre J. Foster, 35, of the 1600 block West Estes Avenue in Chicago, was arrested and charged around 2:30 a.m. with driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license, speeding between 15 and 20 mph, improper lane use and making an improper turn. Police pulled Foster over in the 1600 block of Old Deerfield Road, according to the police report. He was released from custody on a personal recognizance bond and is due in court on May 12 in Waukegan.

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Police arrested 20-year-old Miguel Herrera, of the 300 block Green Bay Road in Highwood, around 3:45 a.m. Thursday after responding to a complaint in the 1400 block of Park Avenue West. He was charged with driving with a suspended license, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Herrera was released on a personal recognizance bond. His May 24 court date is in Park City.

Sunday, April 9

Stolen Items

Police say a thief stole several items from a customer at a business in the 1200 block of Park Avenue West. The crime occurred between 9 and 10:15 a.m. on April 9, but was reported to local police on April 12.

Saturday, April 8

Jewelry Theft

Burglars snagged several pieces of jewelry from a home in the 300 block of Dell Lane this month. Police said the theft occurred between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. on April 8.
