The founders of Highland Park technology firm G2 Crowd was created by former employees of Deerfield's BigMachines Inc.

Similar to Yelp, a new Highland Park firm aims to provide a trusted on-line source where people can get real-time reviews of business technology and software.

The website G2Crowd.com was created by Godard Abel, of Lake Forest and Matt Gorniak, of Vernon Hills, who are two of five co-founders who all worked together at BigMachines Inc. in Deerfield, reported the Highland Park News. Abel also founded BigMachines.

G2 Crowd's headquarters at 1910 1st St., Highland Park, employs 10 people.

There was nowhere to turn for real, unbiased feedback or for advice from people who had actually implemented and used the software and related services, posted the founders of G2 Crowd on their website.

We are changing the game by creating a motivated community of real users sharing real reviews in real time. New insights based on authentic reviews encourage informed decisions and collective learning so businesses can buy technology in much the same way that consumers buy based on peer reviews on sites such as Amazon and Yelp.
