Man Charged For Bringing Gun To Highland Park Target: Police

Highland Park police arrested a man accused of bringing a firearm to a local Target this week.

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — The Highland Park Police Department arrested a man Wednesday for bringing a gun to Target, according to arrest records.

Officers responded to the Target at 2099 Skokie Valley Road after receiving reports of a man with a possible firearm visible on his waistband. After further investigation, police arrested the 21-year-old Indiana man.

According to HPPD, the man, identified as Benjamin Broude, did not have a Firearm Owner's Identification card at the time of the incident. Broude was charged with three counts of unlawful possession of a weapon.

He attended court on Thursday at 9 a.m. in Waukegan and was released, according to records. No additional information about the incident was available.
