Marathon Pharmaceuticals CEO Buys Lakefront Highland Park Mansion

Sale for $11 million is one of the most expensive transfers in the city's history.

The chairman CEO of Northbrook-based Marathon Pharmaceuticals paid nearly $11 million for a 16-room, blufftop mansion on Sycamore Place in Highland Park last month.

Jeff Aronin and his wife, Lisa purchased the property which had been listed at $16 million as late as June, according to Crain’s Chicago. They paid $10.88 million in what is the second-highest known sale of a home in the history of Highland Park.

Records indicate sellers Sheila and Joe Gutman bought the home in 2006.
