Trail Paving Will Be Put Off Until 2016

People who use Green Bay Trail in Highland Park like that some parts of the revered 9-mile North Shore trail are not paved. When they learned Highland Park intended to put down pavement on the path in 2015, they made their views known. “I think our staff was sort of blown away that people were so emotional about the Green Bay Trail,” Mayor Nancy Rotering told residents at Monday’s council meeting. The paving upgrade will be put off until at least 2016 while the city studies the matter.
